Preschool Learning Storytime
Programs for children are very important at Kendall Library. One of my favorites is my Preschool Learning Storytime on Tuesdays at 10:30am. This past two months we have talked about shapes, sorting and patterns, all pre-math skills. For the storytimes I have used the What's the Big Idea? materials. For more information about that program, go to http://www.mothergooseprograms.org/ .

International Quilt Festival
Friday my mother and I attended the International Quilt Festival at the George R. Brown Convention Center. I don't make quilts but I do like looking at them. And we saw such beautiful works of art. All were made with fabric but most were not your classic patchwork quilts. Do try to attend some time- it is worth it. And go to their website www.quilts.com - maybe they will have pictures up for some of the winning quilts.

Welcome to my blog!
Welcome to my blog! Having never blogged before, it is a new thing for me. But I want something to promote great children's books and great storytelling. Both are so important for children but also for the parents. So share with me the joy of "Stories from the Bookworm".
